The Institute is directly under the administrative control of Directorate of Technical Education and Training, Orissa, Industries Department, Government of Orissa.

The State Director is also the State Apprenticeship Advisor. On the behalf of State Apprenticeship Advisor, all the Zonal Apprenticeship Advisors are working.

Registration of trainees is under the control of State Council of Technical Education and Vocational Training, Orissa, Bhubaneswar and Examination is controlled by National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT).

Syllabus & Certification is controlled by NCVT, Govt. of India.

For better participation of Industry, the Institution Management Committee (IMC) has been framed with representatives from Industry & the Chairman is also from Industry. The training requirements and infrastructural development is guided by the IMC
